Did BMW Drop Any Models from its 5 Series in 2019?

You may have noticed several BMW sedan models driving around town over the last few years. In 2019, some of these models were dropped by BMW from the 5 Series line because of demand or marketing reasons.

Previous years saw BMW cars in the 5 Series with various configurations. In 2019, the BMW 5 Series includes the 530i, 530e, 540i, and 550i models with rear-wheel or x-drive options. BMW chose to drop the 540d, with the only diesel-fueled engine in the 5 Series line, from production. BMW also chose to remove the M5 from the 5 Series line of vehicles in favor of introducing a new "M."
