Looking at the all-new 2017 BMW 5 Series, it’s hard to tell the differences between it and the outgoing sixth generation model. Not only has the automaker offered a rare comparison of the two cars in the video above, but shows off the ways that the 2017 model’s design adds function to that winning form.

Every BMW model offers unique takes on three design elements—the angel-eye headlamps, the double-kidney grille, and the Hofmeister kink. These are all present in both models, and have evolved a bit in the 2017 5 Series. The LED daytime running lights have a different shape, and the grille has chrome lining and active shutters to aid in efficiency. The inside has differences, too, where BMW has added ambient lighting to bolster the premium aura.

The 5 Series also offers a driving experience that can’t be replicated by any competitor. To sample it in the 2017 or outgoing model, browse our BMW dealership in Irondale, AL’s online inventory, and then schedule a test drive with our outlet.
