All-New iDrive 8.5 System
While the previous iDrive 8 system was well loved, the latest update makes things even better. With iDrive 8.5, you’ll have a fully customizable infotainment display. Now, you can press and hold an icon to move things around, just like on your smartphone. That means putting all your favorite icons up top for easier access.
All of this takes place on an updated 14.9-inch central infotainment display that sits alongside a 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster. Not only are both of these screens upgrades over the previous model, but they sit in a more natural location for easier viewing from the driver’s seat.
Finally, the old gear stick is gone, replaced by a simplified toggle shifter and drive mode select buttons. This cleans up the center console, making the cupholders and wireless charging pad easier to reach.
The Same Great BMW 4 Series Underneath
Aside from the tech inside, the 2024 BMW 4 Series gets the same excellent performance and luxury as in previous models. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops an impressive 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. And in the 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower turbocharged inline-six, you’ll have a staggering 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to play with.
