The new BMW inventory at BMW of Birmingham now has a new member, and it comes in the form of the 2021 BMW 4 Series. However, there are both several body styles and several engine options to choose from when selecting your ideal BMW 4 Series model, and it’s important to find the right fit before you decide to bring one home.

Body Styles

The new BMW 4 Series is available as either a coupe or convertible, and each comes with their own set of advantages and drawbacks that might help make up your mind.

The coupe version features a sloping roofline that gives the 4 Series an aggressive and sporty look. The added rigidity also helps with cornering and stopping ability, giving you a slightly sharper turn-in when you’re carving up those back road curves. However, the 4 Series Coupe also limits rear head room thanks to the aggressive slope, and lacks the overall flash of the drop top model.

Speaking of the BMW convertible, this model is great for open-road cruising, especially during the warmer months. The convertible top goes up and down quickly so you won’t be caught out by a sudden rain storm, and the cloth top look exudes class wherever you take it.

Engine Options

The base engine of the 2021 BMW 4 Series is a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower turbo-four that generates 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and sends it all through the rear wheels unless you opt for a model with the xDrive all-wheel drive system.

If you prefer a little extra power in your morning drives, the M440i is available and gives you a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbo inline six-cylinder engine that throws down 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque and comes exclusively with the xDrive system.
